Going Local Initiative to break ground on affordable houses

Going Local Initiative is set to break ground on its first affordable housing project. The project site in downtown Clarksville was unveiled in May 2022 and in the Fall of 2022, GLI hosted a public lottery where two qualified applicants were selected to become homeowners. Now, the organization is poised to break ground on the two new houses.

The houses will be three-bedroom, two-bath single-family dwellings. The two units are projected to be complete before Summer 2024.

The groundbreaking ceremony is set for:

The public is invited. Clarksville City Mayor, Joe Pitts, will be present to make remarks, as well as members of Going Local Initiative.
